Lulu: "What?! Oh no! We are shocked and sad to hear this!"
Charlee: "We don't even know what to say, except that we are sending lots of purrs to Jan's family."
Chaplin: "And to her friends and everyone else who loved her."
Lulu: "And I send fluffy tail wags. Rest in peace, Jan. We know that all the dogs who went before you were waiting with wagging tails over the Rainbow Bridge when you arrived."

Brian Frum

We too are so shocked and saddened to hear that horrible news. We are at a total loss of words, which doesn't happen very often. Rest in peace dear friend, it was our honor to have know you in Blogville.

How horrible! And such a shock. Can only imagine what her family is going through with her loss. I loved her blog but have been unable to leave a comment on it for the last few years. (Will try today and hope it goes through.) It just won't work for me. Hugs for those left behind.

We are shocked. She was a part of our every day lives. We were worried as she had not posted for several days. I know she would have loved seeing her beloved 49ers in the Super Bowl, even given the outcome. Our heartfelt condolences from our family to yours. She was a bright light in what could be a dark world. we are sorry for your loss.

Such a tragic loss, so sorry to read this. Jan will be missed by so many of us. All my love to the family.

I knew something was wrong when the Niners went to the Super Bowl and nothing showed up here.We all feel the loss, but our loss is trivial compared to yours. Jan's sharp wit and kind spirit will be missed and remembered by all of us.

My wife found this blog 14 years ago when Prince, a chocolate toy poodle, came into our lives. Jan's writing helped me to understand what a remarkable creature he is.

Thank you for letting us know what happened.

I am so, so, so sorry for your loss. I've started and rewritten this several times...I guess the best thing I can say is I loved emailing, blogging and visiting with your mom. She is priceless and a joy to me and many others. I just know she is now with every dog and cat and many others in a much better place. Although, we are left with a void.
Hugs to all of you.

I am saddened to read the news of Jan’s passing. The world needs more people like Jan. Thinking of Jan’s family and all who loved her.

I am absolutely heartbroken to read this news. I am so sorry you lost you mom and had others injured by this awful event. Your mom was someone I adored. She encouraged me in my blogging and always write stuff I wanted to read. I had a feeling she had a writing background. What an accomplished woman she was!!!
I am so sorry she is gone. Know she was loved very much. She was a class act all the way. May she be at peace and surrounded by dogs who adore her. I am so sorry. 😢

My sincerest wishes for healing of her son and his wife and the whole family.

I am so, so sad and sorry to hear of this. Jan was one of my biggest blog fans and someone whose comment I always looked forward to.

Rest in peace Jan, I'm sure there was an amazing reunion upon your arrival.

I lament that she and I never crossed paths online. What a horrific travesty, a tragic and terrible loss for your family, local and online communites, and everyone her life touched. This world needs more such shining souls. Prayers for all your loved one's physical and emotional healing.

Kathe W.

So very very sad to read about Jan. My deepest sympathies and condolences to her family.

I am so so so sorry. It has been a really long time since Jan and I connected. We used to trade comments back and forth on each other's blogs almost every day before I slowly drifted from blogging. It is heartbreaking to hear there will be no new stories from Jan, and no more witty observations. She was always so kind and encouraging and I wish I'd made the time to visit her blog more often in recent years. She will never be forgotten. My deepest condolences to all close to her on this terrible tragedy.

Ken Oyer

What a horrible thing to happen to Jan and her family. We go way back to when she was correcting written work for grammar and content at Roselawn. I was on staff there and enjoyed conversations every day with Jan. We went different directions but I have followed her love for animals on Facebook over the years. Sympathy to family!
