Thank you for sharing this wonderful story.

Those odds on suicide are heartbreaking. I will never understand the way we treat our heroes of war. A service dog can make all the difference.

Every single Pit I've encountered around my neighborhood has been an terrific ambassador for the breed. Such loyal and sweet dogs, I wish Kasper and his new family all the very best. In today's climate of acrimony, a nice story like this hits the spot!

That number of veteran's suicides equals 7300 per year, 73,000 per 10 years and 146,000 over a 20 year period. If a service dog, regardless of breed, can help even one PTSD veteran, it is worth the effort. We have 1,374,000 active military today and 990,000 reserves.

My dog niece, a pit bull, was one of the sweetest dogs I ever met and my nephew's (and godson) bodyguard for many years. I hope we can get past the time when pit bulls are thought of as evil dogs when it's an evil owner that is responsible.

As to service dogs, I'm for anything that helps our veterans. I'm all for Kasper's help in that effort. It does my heart good to read about it.

So statics are so heart wrenching. I love that dogs and people are getting a chance together!

I've never owned a bad pitty bull dog...love this story

Jodi Stone

Most pit bulls I've met have been amazing ambassadors of their breed. Sadly, it is the ones that due harm that give them the bad rap, when the reality is, the majority of them, have had a really bad owner.
