We are obviously following this story. Like you, we hope it just results in better food for our dogs.

It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

I guess we'll just have to see what comes out in the end.

This will be interesting. Will definitely be following this as we (partly) feed Rita Blue Buffalo Wilderness (mixed with other stuff, which we vary). I did quite a bit of research before switching to Blue years ago. I hope they aren't lying about what goes in - but I suppose you can't trust anyone these days. I certainly wouldn't trust Purina, that's for sure!

Foley Monster, Pocket and River Song

The thing is, if Blue does prove to be less than it claims, no one is switching to Purina. There are plenty of other good foods out there.

I was using Blue Buffalo to supplement my home prepared food during the 2007 mass recalls. I kept careful watch while the company repeatedly denied that its food was affected. Eventually, Blue was recalled and the company claimed *it did not know what its manufacturer was putting in the food*, therefore it did not know the food required recall previously. I was so disappointed. Having recommended the food to a number of puppy buyers, I had to advise them all to throw out their food. I threw out mine and wrote a letter to the company. I sent it via snail mail and requested a response. I never received one. The whole thing left a very bad taste in my mouth and I've never bought a Blue product again in all these years. Would it surprise me if Purina's claims were true? Not one iota.

Thanks for the reminder. In 2007 we learned that many of the high priced so called premium dog foods were made in the same cesspool of a factory as a lot of the cheap stuff. The people who wrote the list of ingredients for the premium food seemed to have no idea of the reality of the production.

I'm inclined to believe Purina thinks it has grounds to file a lawsuit. It has to consult its legal team after all. All file a lawsuit if it will end in a PR disaster for yourself?

I HOPE the little guy wins! And wins BIG!!
