We’ve read a lot of stories about dogs missing for many years that were reunited with owners from many miles away because of microchips.
This story is even more amazing.
Molly the German Shepherd went missing four years ago from her home in North Carolina. Her owners, Joel and Carolyn McDonald, searched for weeks, but eventually gave up hope of ever seeing her again — until one day recently when she just showed up at their door.
At least the dog looked like Molly. It was so unbelievable that Joel sat on the porch to talk to her and Molly put her head in his lap. Carolyn was at school so he left her a message with his voice cracking, “You’ll never believe what came to the doorstep this morning.”
This was their Molly.
At that point there was not a dry eye in the Center.
They have asked her where she has been but probably no one will ever know.
And in the scheme of things it really doesn’t matter.
