Eight-year-old Daisy, a sweet Newfoundland, is the official greeter at the Next apartment building, an upscale 28-story, 310-unit high-rise which opened in September in the near north area of Chicago.
Daisy works the front desk and common areas week days and occasionally on week ends. Her job is to welcome visitors and residents, give kisses, and be adorable.
As a marketer of the building said:
As animal lovers, we know many of our renters also love dogs, but because of their busy lifestyles and travel, the logistics of owning one aren't always feasible. Daisy, the house dog, is one more way that residents will find the building to be a warm, friendly place to call home.
For those who choose to bring in pets, they may have two pets per apartment. No weight limit, but breed restrictions apply. One-time fee of $540 per dog (includes DNA registration which is used to identify unremoved poop from commons areas) and $300 per cat.
Among the amenities of the building are a dog wash and grooming station.
Other amenities include outdoor swimming pool with sun terrace, hot tub and cabanas; fire pit and outdoor grilling stations; 24-hour fitness center with cardio and weight-training equipment; yoga studio with exercise videos; arcade gaming room; golf simulation room; billiards room; lounges; demonstration kitchen; business center; conference room; Starbucks coffee station and 24-hour concierge. Free Wi-Fi in the commons areas. Secure garage parking and personal storage available for an added fee...
and, of course unlimited kisses from Daisy.
Monthly rent ranges from starting at $1775 for a studio to starting at $6200 for a three bedroom.
