A start-up has a revolutionary plan to solve a smelly problem. Two firms have joined forces to create a system called Dogdrones which combines flying machines with ground-based cleaning vehicles.
The flying drone, which is called Watchdog 1, is equipped with cameras and heat sensors designed to spot steaming mounds of doggy doo-doo.
This is a thermal image of a dog poop produced by the cameras on Watchdog 1.
“In the Netherlands, every year 100 million kilos [220 million pounds] of dog poo are not disposed,” Gerben Liever, one of a pair of entrepreneurs behind DogDrones.
I could not make this poop up.
