For an Animal Control Officer no two days are the same.
When a stray 10-week-old German Shepherd puppy fell into a ravine in Pauma Valley, California, her life was not looking good. Fortunately a large bush had broken her fall so she didn’t fall all the way down to the bottom. She found herself trapped, crying for attention from 100 feet down into the ravine.
Denise had been trained in rappelling and was eager to respond. Rappelling down a mountain or cliff is somewhat different from tackling a ravine. But the dramatic rescue went smoothly, the puppy was cooperative. She seemed to smile when she realized she was out of danger. She appears to be in good health.
Since no one claimed her, she is available for adoption at the San Diego County Animal Services in Carlsbad, California.
Just another death defying day in the world of animal rescue.
