The Golden Poodle award goes to the rocket scientists who built a space probe and launched it in 2006 on a journey of over 3 billion miles to fly by and photograph Pluto the planet in 2015.
After waiting nine years they learned this month that their project was a success.
A second Golden Poodle award (because I can) goes to Rabbit the Poodle who was born without paws and to all the humans who built prosthetics for him and trained him to use them.
Rabbit will be working with special needs children.
The Lizard Brain award goes to Wang Kayui, a man in China who raised two puppies for two years only to learn that they were rare and endangered black bears.
The Neanderthal award goes to Patricia Winger from Nebraska. She answered a Craigslist ad to re-home a Chihuahua, then pulled a gun on the sellers and drove away with the dog.
In her own car.
With a license plate showing.
She’s in jail.
