I lost a good friend last summer when the jumped off a boat to rescue his dog that was caught in the rapids. The dog lived and my friend died. Very sad for us all.

Good choices all, as usual. A special shout out to the month's Lizard Brain award. My Lizard Brain has come in handy on a couple of occasions... 'nuff said, we won't go into any details.

dogs are human too.

YES!!!!! I so agree with all of these!. Jerry comments makes me sad. I'm sure the friend was glad the dog lived, even if the friend was now on the other side.

Oh, I was love the monthly awards. Good picks.

Just catching up on grandma and her poodle in TX. How stressful for them both! So glad the story had a happy ending!

I can't think of a punishment to horrible for anyone who would dump a dog.

Well done Jan. I would hope my lizard brain didn't jump into action if my dogs were in trouble, but sometimes (like you said) instincts just go.
