A legendary dog in Japan, Hachiko, accompanied his owner to the train station each morning and greeted him each evening on his return. Then one sad day his owner died while at work. For over ten years Hachiko went to the train station to greet the man who would never return.
Now in China a dog has appeared at a bus stop for over two weeks. Named Hwang Hwang because every dog should have a name, he waits patiently in line, boards the bus with the other passengers, and sniffs every seat, whimpering as he goes through the bus.
Bus drivers report that he spends ten hours each day boarding and searching every bus that passes, but sadly as night falls, he gives up and fades into the darkness until the next day. At first it was thought was looking for a handout, but it became obvious that he was trying to find the scent of his lost human.
It is heartbreaking to think that the dog may have been abandoned, but there is always the chance that the owner is searcing just as desperately for his loyal dog.
One of the commuters took a video of him and posted it online so he has become somewhat of a celebrity. But that is no consolation to a desperate little dog looking for his best friend. Story and Chinese video
