When you are just a little guy, a flight of stairs can look like the Grand Canyon. It's good to have instruction from someone who has been around the block a few times.
And the teacher didn't even have to student teach or write goals to achieve success.

Awww. This made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Hubby saw this a couple days ago, I guess on the news, and told me about it. So glad you posted it :)

That was too cool! We always make sure and start working with our guide pups on stairs. I noticed they have more difficulty with the wood floors like in the video because it's slippery. It's much easier for the pups to learn on carpeted steps.

I have this on my facebook page, it's so awesome! I love how the older dog kept going back and checking on the puppy. At one point I thought he was going to carry her down the stairs. :-)

What a great teacher! It's funny, I came across an article once that dogs don't really learn by mimicking, which I thought was odd, because Meadow learned a lot of behaviors by mimicking my other dogs. And this video sure says differently.

I agree. I can think of many times when I've seen dogs learning by mimicking other dogs or humans.

I know some humans who could learn a lesson about teaching from the big dog. Encouraging but neither pushing or letting the pup give up.

I had to teach my Pekingese to walk up the stairs by placing a piece of food on each step. I never was able to teach him how to walk down the steps though:(

My dogs have always been the best teachers...we do the same with the doggie door for puppies and fosters!
