What a great story to start the season of giving.
When Conner Handy from Medina, Ohio heard how upset his grandmother’s friend was when she lost her two Chihuahuas in a fire, he had an idea. Maybe she needed his dog Heino.
The Handy family has three other dogs, Heino’s parents, Macy and Padro, and his sister, Riley, but Heino was the dog that slept with Conner every night.
Conner’s father, Chris, waited a few days to be sure that Conner was willing to give up his pet, but when Conner insisted, a meeting was set up between Conner and Janice Pierce whose apartment had been destroyed along with her dogs.

I find it interesting that they named the dog after an albino German singer. My parents are big fans.

Like Yellow Dog Granny, there's no way I could give up Bella, but isn't that kind of the point. What an amazingly selfless boy Conner is.

Kids can sometimes see right to the heart of the problem. How sweet of him to share his dog with someone who'd lost hers.
