The Golden Poodle award for November goes to Pooka the Chihuahua who adopted a litter of orphan kittens and Talim the Shepherd dog who adopted a litter of abandoned tiger cubs at a Russian zoo.
The Lizard Brain award goes to Janell Rangan, owner of a Dachshund rescue
organization. She is suing Nora Vanetta, a woman who volunteered to foster and
supervise the weight loss of Obie, a morbidly obese Dachshund.
Unless Rangan’s rescue is rolling in money, she really shouldn’t be paying a few hundred dollars an hour to a lawyer to try to get a dog back from a volunteer who is devoted to helping him.
Fortunately a judge agreed to let Obie stay with Vanetta while the custody suit plays out.
The Neanderthal Award goes to the officials in Coral Springs, Florida,
and all the brain dead city officials who pass and try to enforce regulations
that have no basis in common sense or compassion.

Good God, those are some wacky stories! I sure hope that family with the pet pig wins out. The mom sounds like a creative spirit who hit on a perfect solution for her family. I met a potbellied pig in NYC, surely one can be allowed in FL!
