A Golden Poodle award goes to Zander, the Siberian Husky who
somehow found his way to the hospital where his owner was a patient, even
though he had never been in that area before.
A second Golden Poodle award goes to Ethan, the little Jack Russell Terrier who survived being poisoned and buried alive on his third birthday and to the chain of people who saved his life.
Most of us know what is likely to happen when you put a 9-week-old
puppy on a newspaper.
The Lizard Brain award goes to long distance trucker Nebrou Brook who put his puppy in a newspaper sales honor box while he grabbed lunch.
Fortunately for those who still read newspapers, he was removed by a bystander before nature took its course.
The Neanderthal Award goes to the Murray
County animal shelter in Georgia for not
doing the fundamental duty that shelters are supposed to do: reuniting pets with their
owners and checking for a microchip before sentencing them to death.
Fortunately instead of death in Georgia, Shakira the Husky went to a rescue which paid to transport her to Illinois where they discovered that she had a microchip.

I just caught up with 2 stories I missed...Zander and Shakira. I want to smack those shelter people for being so slack. That poor family and dog. I wonder if the shelter admin will be investigated and chastised at least.
Zander's story...amazing :D
