Russian “Poodle lawsuit” dropped

From the Moscow news.

Apparently some people in Russia are just as eager to be offended as some people in this country are.

Russian rock star Vadim Samoilov brought a lawsuit for slander against a music critic, Artemy Troitsky, who called Samoilov “a trained Poodle” belonging to propaganda mastermind and Putin aide, Vladislav Surkov.

Samoilov is an ex-member of goth rock group Agata Kristi and an associate of Surkov. He sued for 1 million rubles in damages over the comment made on TV in January.

He dropped the suit when a linguistic expert ruled that the comment, "trained Poodle," was “not offensive.”

And you probably thought only Western countries were into this kind of litigious nonsense.

To us he looks more like a Poodle badly in need of a trim. And maybe a bath.

Here’s hoping he doesn’t sue us.

I agree with Jackie's comment...a sheepdog comes to mind. A trained poodle has to work really hard to get there...I would be pleased to be considered 'a trained poodle'. Guess he got some more publicity, though! xx
