A Connecticut dog is making a remarkable recovery after being in the wrong place at the wrong time in the wrong family.
Kenneth Fox stabbed his wife and then used the knife on Rocky before hanging himself.
But this is a post about veterinarian Danna Torre of the Shelton Animal Hospital who helped get Rocky on his feet and walking after surviving three surgeries.
“About six days ago he was taken in for a thoracotomy, and his chest was explored, and we found that the one chest wound was extremely deep through the body wall, through the ribs, and cut through a lung, and that lung lobe was removed, his chest cavity was sealed up, and he has done incredibly well," says Torre.
This is a post about Rocky who had no idea why he was so brutally injured but kept wagging his tail when he knew people were taking care of him.
"After everything he has been through, he has been so easy to work with, he is such a loving dog, he wags his tail all the time..."
And this is a post about people from all over the state wanting to help.
"... the public has given donations from all over Connecticut, people calling, trying to help" says Torre.
There are some tragedies we will never understand. But there are wonderful stories we will.

What a sad story. What a brilliant dog!
There are a lot of women and children living with violent men who are afraid to move out because of the family pet...

So sad. I'm glad the dog survived but why do people like this feel the need to take others with them? *sigh*

How sad..
I just can't move on from that. Can't realize that there were true stories like these. Just glad to know that the dog is okay and the bad guy is gone. :)

Wow, so he lost a lung? Hope that doesn't effect him too much and he finds a new loving family.

Why hurt the dog? Is he going to rat you out to the cops? What an evil man.
