A while back I posted a video of a moron trying to take an apple away from a tiny Chihuahua puppy who tried her best to protect her treasure. She finally resorted to growling and snapping while the moron laughed hysterically and continued teasing.
Fortunately whoever posted it took it off the internet.
Now this video shows up on what is usually a responsible blog. The bewildered Chihuahua is trying to protect his banana while the humans are doing their best to teach obnoxious and what can easily become dangerous behavior.
This is how small dogs get a bad reputation. If they are later tested for temperament, this behavior could send them to the kill room.
These aren’t that funny.

People are stupid.

Yes, we HATE these videos too. And you're right about them being killed when they end up at a shelter. Stupid humans! It isn't funny.

People do all kinds of stupid stuff to toy breeds, because it's 'cute' to see them get mad. No wonder so many are basket cases.

Couldn't agree with you more. When I worked for a groomer it was always the small dogs that we had to worry about biting. And if you mentioned it to the owners, they usually thought it was "cute." I take a pack of properly trained and socialized pit bulls over one obnoxious chihuahua any day! (To clarify, I'm not blaming the dogs, but the owners who teach them to be that way.)

Hear, hear! People think that it's so cute to tease a small dog. But a biting dog is a biting dog. Not so funny anymore when the little guy bites a kid in the face.

sigh*...dog abuse.

It's funny to teach a dog to be aggressive? It's funny to tease an unhappy dog? Only if you're an idiot, couldn't agree with you more. And good point that it's this kind of learned defensive-possessive-aggressive behavior that gets them unfairly killed at shelters.
Do these same adults think it's funny when a schoolyard bully beats up a 4th grader and throw his lunch on the ground?
