It’s easy to condemn the whole human race when we read some of the stupid and brutal treatments inflicted on innocent animals.
But we need to remind ourselves that for every piece of human scum, there are hundreds willing to step in to help when they know it’s needed.
This is Princess. Abandoned by her owners, she was kicked out in the cold to freeze to death. She had mange caused by mites which had burrowed into her hair follicles leaving her hairless. At only 6-months-old she was close to death.
Rescue workers at Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary in England knew that a drug treatment costing a five figure sum was her only hope of survival.
Seeing pictures of the hairless puppy sitting in a cardboard box with her sad little face, the public responded. Click to enlarge the above picture for the full impact. Donations poured in and now just two months later, she doesn’t look like the same dog.
Princess has made a remarkable recovery both physically and mentally. She has a shiny new coat and bright eyes. Life is good.
She had to learn to play and enjoy cuddling with humans. At first she was even afraid of toys. Now, wagging her tail, she bounds across the field with the other dogs at the rescue.
Rescue workers are looking for a permanent home for 8-month-old Princess, believed to be a bull terrier-greyhound mix.
The Human Spirit…The Dog Spirit…they intertwine.

That looks like one tough dog. Looks like the kind of dog who might want to track down the people who abused him.

She's a beautiful girl now! I'm glad she got another chance at life! I just get so angry when I hear about people treating animals so poorly. How can they do that?!

Good for Princess. The human spirit can have unlimited lows and boundless highs. It's good to read about the highs once in a while.

i love a happy ending. i hope princess finds a good family soon. it's wonderful that so many people pitched in to help. looking at that before picture [enlarged], i can understand why. harder to fathom, is how anyone could have done this to her. were the culprits ever caught/charged?

A fitting name for a dog who's a survivor and deserves every bit of a fairy tale ending. I hope that the love that she's received so far has helped her put the cruelty she suffered behind her. Wonderful to know people were so willing to pitch in for her recovery.

this is a great story. I'm happy there are many animal lovers, and that they are ready to help. Too bad there are still too many bad people.
