Thank Dog Bootcamp is one of the best ideas for a business we have seen for a while.
The instructors are certified in both fitness and dog training. Classes take place in a public park, starting as early as 6 am. Instructors wearing camo drill the class in traditional boot camp style.
For the humans 30 minutes of cardio is followed by 30 minutes of weight training. For the dogs it is exercise and obedience training. The humans and leashed dogs run along park trails and through a marked obstacle course. During weight training the dogs learn to follow commands with various distractions going on around them.
Started by twins, Jill and Jamie Bowers, the program has grown to several California locations.
"People need to exercise, and dogs need to be trained and exercised," said Jill Bowers. “When you can do both at the same time in one hour before you even start your day, you can't beat it."
Bowers came up with the idea after she joined a bootcamp-style workout and lost 40 pounds. She realized that her Doberman could benefit from the workouts too.
Probably the best part is that if participants feel like skipping a day, their doggie companion won’t let them. More information

This is a fantastic idea! It's great that they do it in the morning to burn off the pup's energy before you have to leave them and go to work. Love it!!
