And in Australia a restaurant has been ordered to pay Ian Jolly $1,380 USD and apologize for refusing to let him bring in his guide dog last May.
Although the restaurant displays a "Guide Dogs welcome" sign, the confusion arose when a waiter misunderstood his female companion to say that she wanted to bring in a gay dog.
"The staff genuinely believed that Nudge was an ordinary pet dog which had been desexed to become a gay dog," the owners said in a statement to South Australia's Equal Opportunity Tribunal. Source
The Australian Gay and Lesbian Dog Alliance is expected to mount stage a protest against the restaurant.
