Titan is blind, deaf, and suffers from epilepsy. According to his owner Diana Taylor he has acupuncture treatments and chiropractic adjustments every three weeks.
Titan’s official height is a little over 3 ½ feet from shoulder to the floor. Include his head and he’s another eight inches tall. He weighs 190 pounds. It isn’t good for him to stand on his hind legs but he would stand 6 feet 6-8 inches if he did.
The previous record holder was Gibson, also a Great Dane, who died of bone cancer earlier this year.
Taylor was living in Atlanta when she adopted Titan as a puppy from the Middle Tennessee Great Dane Rescue. When he could see out of one eye, she taught him sign language. As he went blind, they learned to communicate by touch.
Among 30 new records, Guinness also announced the world’s largest gingerbread man, the biggest group hug, the most nationalities in a sauna and the world’s longest paper clip chain. But Titan was the only animal to make the book this time. Source

He is a tall fella!

I have three foster dogs from a No-KIll shelter by my house I am fostering that will probably give this dog a run for its money someday. They are so adorable and their paws are huge.....

Bless Diana for giving this big guy a home. I once had a blind dog and she managed very well. Being both blind and deaf would surely make it hard (at least for us humans). Dogs are different though. So much of their world revolves around scent. And I kind of believe they have almost magical senses at their display. I wish them both well.

Titan is pretty big but I'm surprised that his size is enough to be officially the biggest dog. I wonder if there's a bigger canine out there that's unofficial.

He is a beauty!

Wait........what??? "Most nationalities in a sauna?!?!"
But Titan is a beauty - poor guy though, all those issues. I have a blind Chihuahua mix, he was born blind. Gets around great though. He has very limited sight and only up very close. We're really not sure exactly what he can "see".

Beautiful dogie...and grouped with paperclips and gingerbread men? That's just not right somehow.

He's a beauty! Bet he'd take up most of the living room floor, when he snoozes in front of the fireplace.
