Rosie, a UK Poodle, shows off her eight puppies who all look like their father Alfie, a black pedigreed Poodle.
It is somewhat unusual for a white Poodle to give birth to black puppies but possible as long as there is a black Poodle in her lineage and a white Poodle in the father’s lineage, according to a spokesperson for the Poodle Club of America. They belong to Carol Marsden, a retired nurse. Source

At a poodle funday I saw on the weekend, there was a White Standard mum with 5 Black and 5 Brown puppies!

Cute little puddlers!
White is recessive to black..For her to throw white pups,the sire would need a white poodle in his lineage.

Ahh, the crap shoot that is genetics. From college genetics, I think it's
because white is recessive and much less likely to happen.
